Another boring day at work, so I though I’d update his page a little. I’ve added a nice subtle background image to some pages, normal white background didn’t look that good.
I’ve also redone the menu so you can more easily find my Bio– and Thoughts-pages.
And by the way – HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know my friend Dazza over at NataliePortman.Com is going to anyway, he just hooked up with a Dane-babe and they really seem to have something going there. Way to go Darren!
So how was your X-mas ? Mine was excellent. One more holiday with the family, predictable presents (the reason for that is ’cause a secret project coming up in January). I also got into a pretty deep debate about some big problems in the world today, and I just realised – I’ve got lots of bottled up opinions and stuff. So I’d thought I’d start sharing them with the rest of you!
The reason for that is not to brag about how deep and sensitive I can be. It’s rather a way for me to start a debate, and hopefully someone will take the bait and disagree with me. I hate going around with weird opinions and, god forbid, incorrect information about something. So read it and please mail me your opinions!
The first topic I’ll share my thoughts and opinions on with you is racism. I just saw “American History X”, so….
Someone (less worthy to be called a person) called me “Jewish fucker” in my guestbook. First of all, I’d be happy to be called a “Jewish fucker” if I was Jewish (or sexually involved with one). But I’m not. I can only guess he called me that because of the recent quotes. The guy has obviously not read the book. If he had he would soon find it’s not as much about the Germans mistreating Jewish people, but more about the classic scenario about one group of people suppressing another and the methods they used. And that’s it.
And on that subject, here’s another quote but this time from Marthin Luther King Jr.: “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the opressor; it must be demanded by the opressed.”
Thought I’d share one of my favorite parts of the Primo Levi book:
“At dawn the barbed wire was full of children’s washing hung out in the wind to dry. Nor did they forget the diapers, the toys, the cushions and the hundred other small things which mothers remember and which children always need. Would you not do the same? If you and your child were going to be killed tomorrow, would you not give him something to eat today?”
Still not much happening in my life. Does anyone have a more interesting life for sale?
Anyway, in lack of better things to do I redid my Natalie Portman page. AGAIN. I know, I know, it’s the third time but this time it’s better and nicer. I think so anyway.
Well, guess it’s back to Primo Levi again… (depressing but still interesting!)
I’ve started reading a book by Primo Levi (1919 -> 1987) called “Survival in Auschwitz”. And everyone who knows me are probably saying “Kris? READING A BOOK!?”. I’ve only read two books (other than computer literature) in my entire life, so you better believe me when I say it’s a book worth reading!
(and for those of you who are wondering, the other two books are “The Neverending Story” (by Michael Ende) and “The Fourth K” (by Mario Puzo)
I’ve also expanded my “member of” list to include Greenpeace. Do I even need to explain why ?
On a personal note – there was a “9th grade graduation 10th annivarsary reunion” in Nynรคshamn last weekend. I had, by choice, forgotten all about it so I didn’t bother to show up. To everyone who missed me – sorry! But let’s face it, if anyone puts me in the same room as some of the people who helped making my early teens the living hell it was – they are asking for trouble.
Over at NataliePortman.Com we were discussing a song that used some samples from my favorite flic, “Leon”. And now I’ve finally got the MP3 of Eric Serra’s “Hey Little Angel“! My favorite actress in a song from one of my favorite musicians on the soundtrack to my favorite movie. How can I not LOVE IT?!
Ok, so what’s happened since I last updated this page… not much. As usual! The free Guestbook that have worked so well isn’t working at all anymore, so I had to go over to a new free guestbook service. Feel free to sign in!
My favorite Formula-1 driver, M. Schumacher, won the World Championship and I won 1.000 SEK since I knew he would ๐ Also updated my “Who am I?” page to make me look better. And it’s not for show, I actually am a member of the Red Cross and Amnesty. Hope to expand that pretty soon but hey, I wanna enjoy my hard-earned money myself a little too!
I don’t know if I’m that booring, but not much has happened in my life. The most exciting thing that’s happened in recent days was when me and my sister, AC, went out in Stockholm for a movie (“Hollow Man”, I’ll give it a 4) and then to O’Learys sportsbar to see the Indianapolis Formula 1 race live. Quite an experience, it really beats sitting home alone watching F1. The mood was great, the food was great, the service was good, the race was excellent and the crowd was superb (and mostly Ferrari :)).
On a personal note, I’m now officially a staff-member of NataliePortman.com . Yeah baby! I’m in charge of the image gallery. Sounds easy right? You trying indexing, categorizing etc. over 2000 images.
Not much happening here. I was out partying with Henrik, Janne and Jocke again last satuday and ended up trying to get from one twilight zone (aka Brandbergen) to another (aka Lyngsta) at 6 am with a bit too much to drink. I finally got home at about 8.30 and soaking wet, but man did we have fun! The project to upgrade everything here to Flash is scrapped untill I get my hands on the new Flash 5, but I’ll update bio and “about me” section.
I just realised I hadn’t updated this for a while, so I thought I’d just leave a note here saying that I’m still alive and kicking! I’m also doing a Flash version of my domain. Most of it anyway, not the Star Trek pages since they are too big. But I’m working on it!
The old Natalie Portman dedication wasn’t good enough. So I did a new one ๐ This time the entire homepage is included in the Flash animation with a menu, and of course a song. This time it’s one of the most beautiful songs ever – “Det Vackraste” by Cecilia Vennersten. It’s in swedish but the music and her voice tells the story, not the lyrics. Anyway, check it out here.
I finally got a hold of the pics from our Finn-cruise. Unfortunately, due to a mishap the reel for the first day was unusable ๐ And that was the day when most of the funny things happened (like me+ร sa spontaneous version of “Living Next Door to Alice”). Anyway, you’ll have to make do with the photos from “the day after”. Check my bio for the pics.
The reason I haven’t been writing anything here for a couple of weeks is because I had a very, VERY needed vacation. I didn’t really do anything special during the vacation. Except helped out for the sci-fi congress in Stockholm. It turned out better than we thought, we got a preview of the new movie X-Men ! And this was on 7th July, before the US premiere and considering this is in Sweden it’s quite a feat!
The movie was very well-made. And I’ve never really read any X-Men comics or anything so I had a little trouble with all the characters. But Anna Paquin has really grown into a babe!
Another very booring day at work… so I updated my biography page with more info about my family. Other than that, I’m still contemplating the fact that I’m not in Australia…
Today I finally MP3 coded the radiointerview with me and Godzilla. It’s about 10 MB big, but man was it fun making it! Check out my bio to read about this interview. Credits go to my sister who taped it.
I’ve gotten some complaints that I don’t have any stuff or any interesting things on this site. Well I’m sorry, but this is “my very own domain”, and mostly it contains info about me and some very few special others, so you can complain all you want, but this is my place.
So what’s new in my life? Not much I’m afraid, trying to keep everything rolling at work. Other than that, Sweden was knocked out of the European Championship in soccer. Surprise? Not very… But on the upside, Schumacher won the Canadian Formula-1 GP ๐
